東京美術学校で彫金を学ぶが途中でガラス工芸に転向。
スウェーデン・スモーランド地方のオレフォス村を訪ねた時の作品です。
色ガラスと金箔を混ぜた飾筥は有名。

Studied metal engraving at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts, but changed to glass art halfway through.
This work was made during a visit to the village of Örefoss in Småland, Sweden.
His decorative boxes mixed with coloured glass and gold leaf are famous.
